Each user can set their individual preferences by going to Settings / Personal Settings. This page is individual to each user and requires no special permissions. Most settings are self-explanatory; this document will only cover those that are less obvious. Please contact Troy support if you require any further assistance.
General
‘Tether item windows’ links the behaviour of Person, Company, Job etc. windows to the state of the main screen. Changing this setting requires you to log out of Troy and back in. it would typically not be ticked.
‘Create follow up tasks’ provides the option to create tasks in Outlook, the Troy diary or both. You will have tasks for other purposes in Outlook, so it can make sense to just have all of your tasks in the one place.
‘Candidate date of birth’ will ignore the year when searching, allowing you to find all candidates whose birthday is coming up so you can send them an email with birthday wishes and a reminder to send you their up to date CV.
‘Apply SQL query timeout’ will adjust how long Troy will wait for a response to a query from the database before timing out.
The value for this is in Settings / System Settings / Search Settings. If your system is under very heavy load or otherwise running slowly, the timeout can be extended. The Personal setting controls whether individual users apply it.
Alerts and Email
‘Include Job alerts’ will generate an alert to inform you when another consultant adds candidates to one of your jobs.
People
‘Show note snippet’ will display the first few lines from the Notes tab on a person’s record in the top right corner of the screen so that it is always visible.
‘Send consent email’ will prompt you to send an email to the new person confirming that they are now on your database to ask for their consent to contact them.
‘Start the Automated CV parser when Troy starts’ will start the parser, using the credentials entered in Settings / System Settings / Creation Settings / CV Scanning / Configure and Settings / Automated CV Parser.
A folder on a shared network drive is configured for each of up to 5 divisions. Users can simply drop CVs into the relevant folder and a background task will run on the PC of the user who has this setting enabled; this will cycle round on a regular schedule and process any CVs that have been added since its last pass.
‘Include job when making calls’ will create a reference to the drilled-from job when the call history is created.
‘Field to use’ determines which of the fields below is used to change the colour of rows in a list of people depending on whether that date is today (blue), within 7 days (green) or within 28 days (purple). The option hidden in the image is ‘Use added to job list’ and when ticked, the colouring will instead be based on how recently the people in the list have been added to the drilled-from job.
