Troy has built-in functionality for handling short- and long-term contracts. If you are running Troy in Permanents or Exec Search mode and would like to have this facility switched on, please contact Software Support; there is no charge for enabling the code that you already have installed and there is no impact on your existing data.
The Daybook is a great source of information about many parts of Troy, including who is just starting on a new contract and who is coming to the end of one. It can be loaded by clicking on the ‘Filofax’ icon (if you can remember what that was!), second from the right in Fig. 1

In the Starters section (Fig. 2), you can select contracts which are starting today, this week, next week or a Custom range of dates.

One use of this section could be to proactively call the client contact to check that the contractor has turned up and that they are satisfied with them, and also call the contractor to check that everything is to their satisfaction.
You can use the binoculars icon (rightmost on the second row of icons) to adjust which columns are displayed.
Similarly, the Leavers session (Fig. 3) can be used to see which contracts are coming to an end and you can use this to contact both parties to see if the contract can be extended.
