There are three ways of storing emails from Outlook into the Troy database:
- Troy Inbox
This will allow you to select an email in any Outlook folder and either store the email against the appropriate person and / or company, or to create a candidate record directly from a CV attached to an email if you are using the Burning Glass CV Parsing option.
2. Outlook Add-In
The Outlook Add-In allows you to select a number of emails in one go and to then store them into the Troy database, matching people by their email address.
The latest version of the Add-In has a new feature that will allow you to select a number of emails that are bounce backs (e.g. from a marketing campaign) where the email address is invalid.
It will then create a Stored List in Troy that you can use to process those people as you wish, or if you tick the box, it will automatically clear all of those email addresses in Troy against each person, so that you don’t send further emails to a non-existent addresses.
3. Troy Command Centre
The Troy Command Centre is used to keep the Troy document index up to date, to enable very fast searching through candidate CVs. It is only available if you are running Troy on a Microsoft SQL Server database.
Additionally, it can also be used to automatically store emails into the Troy database. This function is only available if your emails are processed by Microsoft Exchange. The program will cycle round at a pre-set interval and store any emails that have arrived since it last ran.
It is configured to connect to your Exchange server and retrieve emails for all configured consultants, so you only need one copy of this running minimised on one desktop to store emails for all of your company.
